SettleX Expense Settlement App

I’m building the SettleX mobile app to make group-expense settlement crystal-clear. The core of the job is translating our rock-solid backend calculations into a smooth, trustworthy mobile experience on both iOS and Android, so every user instantly knows who owes whom—and why—without second-guessing a single number.
Scope of work
• Display group-level balances (You Owe, They Owe You, Net) pulled directly from our API.
• Show member-level settlements with exact payable or receivable amounts, always matching the backend ledger.
• Render a transaction history that keeps directional logic intact (paid by / paid for) and updates automatically when a settlement is recorded as paid, pending or partial.
• Keep the UI a faithful mirror of server truth—no hard-coded or client-side “magic math”.
• Support one user role: Group Member. Admin flows are handled elsewhere.
• Secure access through a quick PIN plus biometric unlock (Face ID / Touch ID or Android equivalent).
Deliverables
1. Production-ready iOS and Android apps (native or cross-platform is fine as long as both stores are covered).
2. All screens wired to live backend endpoints with graceful loading and error states.
3. Unit and UI tests proving balance accuracy and settlement flow integrity.
4. Build & deployment scripts, brief README and a handoff call.
Acceptance criteria
• Balances in the app always equal backend values to the cent.
• Every settlement action updates status across devices within one refresh cycle.
• No screen leaves the user unsure of what they owe or are owed.
• Face-ID / fingerprint unlock works on devices that support it; PIN fallback covers the rest.
