Resolve memory issue with an android app

We have an android app which displays videos and images in a loop. For videos, it uses exoplayer and gets the videos over the internet. The app crashing with memory issues after about 3-4 hours. This has to be resolved.
Also, we would like to convert this app to a launcher app.
