Pet Social Media App
Budget: $1,000 – $5,000 CAD
I need a fully-functioning Android and iOS application that brings the familiar, scrollable joy of Instagram to our pets. The core experience is simple: owners create an account, upload photos or short videos of their animals, apply a basic filter or quick crop, and publish.
Every post must support the usual social interactions—likes, comments, shares, plus the ability to follow other profiles—so users can build genuine communities around their pets. I’m not looking for a sophisticated editing suite; a handful of lightweight filters and cropping tools will do the job without bloating the app.
Key workflow I have in mind
1. Sign-up / sign-in (email, phone or social login)
2. Capture or choose media → apply basic filter or crop → post
3. Feed refreshes instantly; posts show total likes, comments and share button
4. Tap to like, open comment thread, or share internally
5. Follow/unfollow profiles; feed updates accordingly
6. And filters for photos like snapchat
I’m happy for you to recommend the ideal tech stack—Flutter, React Native, Swift/Kotlin paired with a cloud backend such as Firebase, AWS Amplify or Supabase are all fine by me—as long as it delivers smooth cross-platform performance and keeps storage costs predictable.
Deliverables
• Android (AAB) and iOS (IPA) builds ready for store submission
• Complete, well-commented source code
• Minimal design system: logo placeholder, colour palette, icon set
• Setup documentation: backend deployment, environment variables, steps to compile and publish
Once the builds run error-free on my test devices and all interactions work as described, we’re done. If this sounds like your kind of project, let’s talk timeline and milestones.
