Those two projects are for Hair Salon. But we can use some features of them for a dental office.
Some of the features are the same, such a Booking / Schedule management, Customer management, POS (Point of sales), Business Analysis / Graphical Statistics, Direct Mail Marketing, Reporting, Automatic data backup, Data synchronization among multiple devices, Online booking etc.
The new feature for the dentist is the chart module and the treatment plan.

The application in https://www.opendental.com site is very large and concern large dental offices and hospitals. Nevertheless, you can check the site to see some features.
I would prefer the module which concern the dentist to be exclude from the main application. Because we will have the chance to use this application for many different uses (dentist, pathologist, pediatrist, orthopedic e.t.c.) it is better to keep as the main application (booking, schedule, Customer management, mail Marketing e.t.c.) and each time to load the module the speciality we want.
