Project Title: Secure Photo Management App for Android (Future iOS Adaptation)
Overview: We are seeking a skilled mobile developer to create a secure, internal-use mobile application for Android (with a future iOS version planned). This app will help our team organize, label, and upload area-specific photos to an FTP server in a structured manner. The app will be distributed internally, with access controlled by secure login options (password, PIN, and biometric authentication).
Key Features:
Secure Login
Pre-set access credentials (no registration).
PIN, password, and biometric authentication options.
Main Menu
Simple navigation with buttons for:
Take Image: Capture and label photos.
Set Areas: Create, delete, and organize designated areas.
Set FTP: Configure FTP settings and test connectivity.
Area Management
Add, delete, and rearrange areas in a dynamic list with drag-and-drop support.
Photo Capture and Labeling
Capture photos for each area, add labels, and manage photos with options to retake or delete.
FTP Configuration and Upload
Set FTP server credentials, validate inputs, test connections, and upload photos in structured folders per area.
Ensure minimum connection speed and support background uploading with pause, resume, and error handling.
Technical Requirements:
Authentication and Storage:
Use secure methods for storing login credentials (EncryptedSharedPreferences for Android).
Implement biometric options (Android’s BiometricPrompt).
UI Development:
Simple, intuitive design using large buttons and drag-and-drop support.
Login, area management, and FTP setup screens.
Image Handling:
CameraX API for photo capture.
Overlay labeling on photos and structured local storage.
Networking and FTP:
FTP connectivity with Apache Commons Net (Android).
Connectivity check with a speed test and FTPS support if available.
Background Task Management:
Use WorkManager for background uploads, allowing pause, resume, and retry on failure.
Development Tools and Dependencies:
Languages: Kotlin (preferred) or Java for Android; Swift for future iOS development.
Libraries:
Authentication (AndroidX Biometric), UI (Material Components), Camera (CameraX), FTP (Apache Commons Net), Background Tasks (WorkManager).
Testing: JUnit, Espresso for Android testing.
Expected Skills:
Mobile Development (Android, iOS knowledge is a plus)
Experience with secure storage, authentication, and FTP integrations
Proficiency in Kotlin and Java (Android)
UI/UX design for intuitive navigation
Experience with background tasks and error handling for file uploads
Additional Notes: This app is part of an internal workflow, with no registration or external access. Security and efficient handling of images are critical.
