HVAC Team Management App MVP
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m building a first-release mobile app that lets our HVAC company organise people, mentor apprentices, and keep simple two-way communication flowing in the field. The interface needs to feel as clean and obvious as a native Apple app, with large touch targets so technicians can use it while wearing gloves.
Core flow
• A three-tier user structure: Director, Team Leader, and Apprentice. Each role unlocks its own dashboard and permissions.
• Profiles store trade type and key documents; users can either take a photo or upload a file from the device. Licence and certification expiry dates should trigger automatic tracking and appear in an admin view.
• For apprentices I need a skills tracker: task checklist, photo evidence, and a quick leader sign-off right on the phone.
• Weekly one-on-one check-ins record a mood rating plus free-text feedback, all kept in an easy timeline so progress is visible at a glance.
• A lightweight admin screen pulls everything together so I can monitor outstanding documents, apprenticeship milestones, and completed check-ins without drilling through multiple pages.
Tech stack
I’m comfortable with Flutter or React Native on the front end and would like Firebase or Supabase for auth, data, and storage. Choose whichever you’re fastest with, but make sure the codebase is clean and ready for future features such as push notifications, gamification elements, and more advanced analytics.
Deliverables
• Source code with clear project structure and comments
• Deployed builds for iOS and Android test flights
• Brief setup documentation and a hand-off call
Acceptance criteria
The app must install and run on iOS and Android, create and manage the three user roles, store and retrieve documents with both capture methods, complete apprentice checklist flows including photo evidence, and log weekly check-ins with text plus rating scale. The admin dashboard should summarise document expiries, apprenticeship progress, and check-in history without manual queries.
If this sounds like your kind of build, let’s discuss timelines and milestones.
