Edit an android project

I would like to edit this SMS app https://github.com/moezbhatti/qksms
to allow use in small phones with buttons so to do the following:
Remove the new message (+) button
Remove the button to options menu from top
Resize to fit small screen 2.8-inch display
Add text compose and options in the bottom as in the image attached
function that when clicked key (event.scanCode == 106) then compose
function that when clicked key (event.scanCode == 108) then show options
