Discovery+ apk, to run on rooted FireTV2 without google or amazon services

Hello!

I have been running my Firetv2 with a rooted Sloane rom, based on Lollipop:

Sloane is the codename for the firetv2 device.

Until about a month ago the Discovery+ apk for the android tv (1.0.2) was running fine on it, it did not complain about google play services not being installed on the device. Now running the app stops when it asks to update. The update, of course, fails. Discovery began to enforce a minimum version, I think. I have a later version of the android tv apk which installs fine on the box. Installs, runs, but stops when it throws an error message: "requires google play services to run, which are not supported by your device". Yes, my firetv2 is running an OS without google services.

I need a Discovery apk which will run on my device without looking for google, (checks/dependencies removed, maybe libraries added), and which will pass the login screen for Discovery. I do have a paid subscription for Discovery+.

If you do not have a device without google services to test on (AOSP rom like lineage without gapps) I am happy to test on my firetv2 and could send you screenshots.

When the new apk is compiled, update checks and auto updates from Discovery need to be disabled. Some versions of the apk I found will run without google, however they throw an error when they attempt to logon to the amazon appstore in a similar way.
Also, if and when Discovery modifies their backend making the app unusable, another mod of a newer apk would be needed. Since the steps to make this work have been determined for the original mod, is it correct to say the second mod would be less work? I would need a price to make that revision.

As stated above, I found a Discovery+ apk which is tied to amazon's appstore. It installs, runs without google services error. I can signin to Discovery OK, but receive nags about not connecting to the amazon appstore. It show thumbnails OK and I can browse the Discovery service. But any attempt to play a show results in an error, "this device cannot play DRM content". I suppose that is because the device is rooted? We need to fix the DRM issue. I never got the DRM error on the old apk, which stopped working, on the same device, so it is fully capable of playing DRM content.

I just want to play content from my paid subscription, without being tied to amazon or google.

If the linked files help, great. If you want to start from scratch, OK.

Five things are required to complete this project, the apk 1: Must install ok on my device; 2: Can be run without google services 3: Will run without amazon appstore connectivity, 4: Any auto-updates disabled, and 5: Allows me to log into Discovery with my paid account and use the service without errors.

Thank you!
