Custom changes to apps + website (vacation rental platform)
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
Looking to hire high quality developers to customize a vacation rental platform. There are 2 customizations we need. Both customizations need to be for web, and both apps. Quote for everything.
We purchased a pre-made vacation rental platform built like the ones known worldwide. You can view web demo of the platform here: https://demo.rentallscript.com/
Source code is available for inspection for serious bidders that have read the project, no auto-bids will be considered. Please prepare your initial quote based on review of what is written, including full word document attached.
Technologies involved:
Frontend: React, Redux, Bootstrap, React Apollo and Apollo client
Backend: Expressjs, Sequelizejs, GraphQL, MySQL
Android app: Kotlin iOS app: Swift
You will be working with me; I work directly for the owner. I am not familiar with the technologies involved in these apps, etc. I normally only do SEO, html, and WordPress, I am involved as a favor to the owner, and to make a dollar or two.
I need a native English speaker or someone that speaks perfect English, to explain things to me accurately.
This project is for the following:
#1 Tax Feature
A feature to automatically collect tax for each purchase based on the state of the rental, and transfer the tax to site admin, to be noted on an admin feature listing total tax collected for that state. (see attached word document for full instructions, the 4000 word count limits me here)
#2 Security Deposit Feature
A feature for the host to add a security deposit if they choose to do so, and to either keep it or return it to the guest. (see attached word document for full instructions, the 4000 word count limits me here)
Those are the two customizations. The tax feature, and security feature. See word document for full scope of work.
Please break down your price telling us which portion is for the tax feature and which portion is for the security deposit feature. This product we purchased looks nice, the web part looks nice, the apps look nice. We need these features to look nice and incorporate with all that is there.
All questions I may have, and further explanations of the work is included in the cost of the bid. Consider yourself a partner with us if you win the project, I may have other questions to ask. For example, the whole droplet hosting thing has been very confusing to me, I may ask…can you explain this a bit better, are we using the right droplet, should we upgrade. These are minimal questions, but there may be some, for the winning bidder.
Please think about the time frame, the owner is very picky on this. Make sure you can complete the task in the time you bid. It will be 5 to 7 days before we pick a winning bidder.
Also, please address the following in your quote.
Once we alter the code, we lose support from the developer. There will still be future updates of the base product we purchased.
How much would you charge us for installing a future updated version (web + apps).
Would this even be possible, as the code is now altered. If a new version comes out, is it even something that could just be “installed” as now the code of what we are using is different?

This is a great gig for the right developers, with more work to come, as we move to take a legit shot at the huge private vacation rental marketplace.
