Project Description:
We are seeking a mobile app developer to build a custom internal-use app for our junk car buying business. This app will be used exclusively by drivers and management to simplify junk car acquisitions in the field.

The goal is to create a fast, reliable tool that lets drivers scan IDs, pull vehicle data via VIN or license plates, generate signed Bills of Sale, and store all transaction records. The app must also support an optional scheduling and dispatch system for larger teams, without complicating the workflow for smaller operators.

In the future, we plan to license or white-label this app for other junk car buyers, so scalability and flexible user roles are important.

Core Features (for All Users):

1. ID / Driver’s License Scanning (OCR):
• Scan seller’s ID using the device camera
• Use OCR to extract:
• Full Name
• Address
• License Number
• Auto-fill seller section of the Bill of Sale
• Save the ID image with the transaction
2. VIN or License Plate Scanning & Vehicle Info Auto-Fill:
• Option to scan the VIN or manually enter a license plate
• Use vehicle data API to auto-fill the following fields:
• VIN
• Year
• Make
• License Plate Number
• Auto-fill the current date
• If both VIN and plate are entered, use whichever returns valid data first
• Allow manual edits in case of scan/API issues
3. Bill of Sale Generation:
• Auto-fill from scanned/entered data
• Company/buyer info pre-filled from Settings (editable)
• Signature capture (for both buyer and seller)
• Generate a clean PDF
• Email a copy to company records (optionally to the seller)
• Save all data in the transaction record
4. Transaction History & Record Keeping:
• Store and organize all completed transactions:
• Scanned ID, VIN, or plate images
• Generated PDFs
• Date/time, notes, GPS location
• Searchable by name, VIN, plate, or date
• Export functionality (CSV or batch PDFs)

Optional Feature – Scheduling & Driver Dispatch (For Management Users):

This feature should be included as an optional module for teams that want to pre-schedule pickups and assign them to drivers:

• Management can schedule upcoming vehicle pickups with:
• Seller Name, Address, Phone
• Pickup Date/Time
• Vehicle Info (if available)
• Assign jobs to drivers from the app
• Scheduled jobs appear in a driver’s dashboard
• When a driver opens the job, the Bill of Sale auto-fills with the scheduled data
• Driver can edit, scan, and complete the sale from there
• Completed jobs are automatically marked and recorded

This keeps the workflow simple for owner-operators, while offering structure for larger businesses.

Technical Requirements:

• Platforms: iOS & Android (cross-platform preferred – React Native or Flutter)
• Integrations: OCR (ID/VIN scan), vehicle data API, PDF generation, email sending
• Scheduling/dispatch should be a permission-based feature (management only)

Deliverables:

• Fully functional app
• Source code and build instructions
• Help with internal deployment (TestFlight, APK, or private distribution)
• Documentation for future maintenance and updates
