Job Description:
I'm looking for an Android developer to build a minimal viable product (MVP) of a tool that allows users to:
Tap a floating bubble overlay on any screen (like Facebook Messenger chat heads).
Take a screenshot of the current screen using MediaProjection API.
Run OCR (text recognition) on the image to extract visible text (Google ML Kit preferred).
Detect any URLs/links within that extracted text using regex.
Show the extracted links in a popup dialog with options:
Open in browser
Copy to clipboard
Share via intent
Important: No fancy UI needed. Functionality and speed are the priorities.
Deliverables:
Android app (min SDK 24+) with:
Floating bubble service
Screenshot capture feature
Google ML Kit OCR integration
Link extraction logic (regex)
Dialog with Open/Copy/Share options
Clean Kotlin codebase with comments
APK for testing
Guidance on Play Store deployment (optional)
Requirements:
Strong experience with:
Kotlin and Android Studio
Foreground services and overlay permissions
MediaProjection API
Google ML Kit (or other OCR tools)
Previous projects involving screen overlays or floating UIs preferred
Ability to deliver MVP within 7–10 days
