Cross-platform Bluetooth Auto-Pairing App
Budget: £400 – £1,000 GBP
Hi, I'm looking to build a cross-platform app (iOS & Android) that primarily focuses on automating the Bluetooth pairing process with nearby devices. It should support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bluetooth Classic.
The app should:
- Automate the process of identifying and pairing with nearby Bluetooth enabled devices.
- Support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bluetooth Classic.
- Have a simple, user-friendly interface.
The freelancer for this job should ideally:
- Have experience with Bluetooth technologies, specifically BLE and Classic.
- Be comfortable working across iOS and Android platforms.
- Have a portfolio of relevant apps they've worked on previously.
- Be able to deliver a secure and user-friendly interface.
I am looking to create an app for Android and iOS smartphones which uses Bluetooth or BLE technology, or similar technology, to transfer and receive small packets of data wirelessly between mobile phones, or cell phones, of the same and differing operating systems in a Mesh Network. There would be multiple users of the app within a 30 metre radius locality using an ad hoc, node to node, wireless system. The app must therefore have no reliance on WiFi, mobile data or any use of a WAP or a WiFi router. It can maybe use a technology similar to Z Wave or Zigbee wireless technology, and maybe use a method like PairAsync for pairing or connecting. The app must have a high level of security using HTTP, SSL, TLS or similar, and must encrypt and decrypt all data during transit and at rest with advanced security features like LESC, and using systems such as, or similar to, FIPS 140-2 and AES-SHA256 cryptography. I would like to have copies of any written source code that is created by you or any details on the tech stack, SDK and APIs used. As the app could be using Bluetooth or BLE, I want users to be able to send and receive data without the requirement of having to prompt for, or give permission for, a “pairing” or “connecting” of devices each time they wish to send or receive data. If BT or BLE is to be used, the developer must have a high level of understanding of the various pairing and connection processes of BT and BLE, which involve STK, LTK, Legacy, SSP, LMP, Passkey, OOB, MITM and Numeric Comparison. I would require a very basic MVP to begin with. Once we have established that the MVP works as desired, we can discuss the UX and UI of the app. I do wish to see examples of apps that you have created already, which are currently available for download on Google Play or the Apple App Store. As I would want my app to be uploaded onto both of the major app deployment platforms, Google Play and the Apple App Store, I would want a developer who understands the criteria and policies of both platforms. As the Apple App Store requires a minimum of Xcode 15 and the iOS 17 SDK to be incorporated into the app, this needs to be taken into consideration.
