Converting my Android app to a launcher
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I created an app that I will run in my car for my own personal use. No play store submission needed.
What I am looking to do is make my app as a launcher so that I have full control of hiding other apps, locking other apps, disabling the home button, etc.
There is a launcher I have been testing called Launcher (https://github.com/finnmglas/Launcher) that does pretty much what I am wanting to do. Just need to inject my app into its code.
So I just need:
My app to be a launcher whenever the tablet starts or restarts and allow me to hide or password protect all icons (my app has android apps within it that can be started that way without needing the icon on the home screen/drawer).
I have also noticed that the launcher app Allow seems to take over the navigation bar at the bottom (back, home and round button) so that’s nice and makes my app look nice as well.
That's pretty much it.
