QR Car Show Voting App
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I’m planning a car show that lets spectators vote for their favourites with nothing more than their phone. Here’s the flow I need translated into a clean, dependable production-ready app suite for both iOS and Android:
Spectator app
• Home screen shows 16 clearly labelled category buttons.
• Tapping a category launches the camera, the visitor scans the QR code on a car’s information card, then immediately hears a short confirmation sound, sees a brief “Vote recorded” message, and is returned to the home screen with that category removed.
• If someone scans a QR code that doesn’t belong to the chosen category the app must display an error: “This car is not in this category—try again.”
• The process continues until all categories are completed.
Organizer (master) app
During show setup I’ll enter up to 150 car entries with owner name, car number and category. The master app should instantly generate a unique QR code for each entry that I can copy or export and drop onto the printed information cards.
During the event I want to watch votes accumulate live on my phone/tablet: a simple table that lists car number, category and current total votes. If true real-time streaming proves impractical, an automatic tally push at the end of the show (e.g., 2 p.m.) is acceptable.
Essential deliverables
• Universal spectator app (iOS & Android) with the scan-to-vote workflow above
• Companion organizer app (iOS & Android) with entry management, QR generation and real-time (or fallback scheduled) results dashboard
• Source code and build instructions so I can publish through my own developer accounts
• A brief hand-off session or video walkthrough to ensure I can add participants, print QR codes and monitor results
Please keep the interface straightforward and lightweight—no unnecessary screens or sign-ups—and feel free to recommend backend or cloud tools you trust for fast, reliable data sync. I’m ready to start as soon as we agree on the technical approach and timeline.
