Android TEXT TO SPEECH resume function implementation

I have an android project that requires to call TEXTTOSPEECH function to read a string(array). Currently, the read and stop functions are working. However, the resume function is not working properly, which can either read all or read the last word only. I'd like to have someone who has strong experience to help me handle this. Thanks
