Android 15 Security Tweak Expert Needed & ROM Creation
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
The project is divided into phases.
Before each phase you must agree on how to proceed and at the end you must provide the way to test the functioning of the work done.
Phase 1)
Quick test of our app on AOSP.
Phase 2)
Modify the package platform_packages_apps_Settings.
2.1) Enable file encryption by default and make it permanent; it can only be disabled via the API used by my app.
2.2) Disable/hide to user the FBE service from the system settings.
2.3) Disable/hide to user the management of USB/Bluetooth/Debug options from the system settings. By default, the USB port is available ONLY for charging and not for exchanging files with the PC.
Step 3)
System settings windows for USB, Bluetooth and Debug Options must be shown to the user ONLY through our app via SDK. You can pass parameters to the package like a password that enables the related function.
Step 4)
After installing an app via Android API, you need to run a given package, if installed. For example com.androidb.scanner. The package name is provided via SDK.
Step 5)
With Android 14, the killBackgroundProcesses function has changed and all background processes cannot be killed. We need to create a function that kills all processes related to other apps installed by the user, except the one given as a parameter, which is our app. It must be possible to kill the services again via intent.
Step 6)
Create an SDK with these functions:
1) Show USB system settings; Charging only will be the default;
2) Show FBE system settings; Enabled by default;
3) Show Bluetooth system settings; Disabled by default;
4) Show Debug Options system settings; Disabled by default.
5) Create/Modify a password to protect system functions so that the user or another process cannot show them independently. Enable a default password value. Encrypt the password.
6) Kill all apps installed by the user. Apps can be in background or not. A parameter is passed to indicate which apps are not killed.
7) Kill services via apps from point 7) via intent. The function must be password protected.
ONLY OUR APP CAN CONTROL BLOCKED FUNCTIONS.
The first installation will be done via fastboot (PC + cable), but later the system must support OTA updates via the Internet.
You must provide a document with all the changes made to the source code. Please provide the initial source code and the modified source code to verify the changes.
You need to provide all the information needed to make us autonomous in creating a ROM for security.
Agree on one or more smartphones on which to run the ROM for various tests and distribution. The smartphone must be unlockable and lockable later.
The candidate must suggest any smartphones to adopt in addition to Google Pixel.
