Android Local Services Marketplace
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I need a seasoned Android developer who can craft a fast, fully native marketplace focused on local events and activities. The app has to feel instantly familiar to users who already know Material You: smooth navigation, snappy interactions, and a clean, modern look are non-negotiable.
Core workflow
• Users browse or search nearby events and activities, see at-a-glance details, and dive into rich descriptions.
• Every organiser and attendee gets a profile that supports photos, bios, and a transparent review system so trust grows organically.
• Whenever a new event is posted that matches a user’s interests or location, a push notification should arrive immediately—even if the app is in the background.
What I expect from you
– Build the app natively (Kotlin preferred, Java acceptable) with the latest stable Android SDK and Jetpack libraries.
– Follow Google’s performance guidelines so scrolling stays buttery on mid-range devices.
– Implement Firebase (or your recommended alternative) for auth, real-time data, and FCM push notifications.
– Clean, readable code and sensible architecture (MVVM + coroutines/Flow) so future maintenance is straightforward.
– A short walkthrough video or README that explains setup, key modules, and how to trigger the main features.
Acceptance check
I’ll consider the project complete once I can install the APK on a physical device, create a profile, post a dummy event, receive a push notification on a second account, and leave a review—all without crashes or visible jank.
If this sounds like your wheelhouse, let’s talk timeline and milestones.
