Android Library Scanner App
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I need an Android application for our college library management project, and speed is critical—I’d like to see a working build as soon as possible. The heart of the app is a reliable, fast QR / barcode scanner that can read labels on every book in our collection. A successful scan should instantly pull up (or create) a record that stores the book title, author, call number, and any notes we decide to attach later.
Beyond scanning, the app must let us:
• add or edit book information manually when a code is missing or damaged
• record the borrower’s name or student-ID with a single tap
• set a due date and have it saved to the same record for quick lookup
A clean, minimal interface is enough—functionality matters more than elaborate design. You’re free to build in Java or Kotlin; integrating a proven library such as ZXing or ML Kit for the camera scan is fine as long as the result is smooth and accurate.
Acceptance criteria
1. APK installs on Android 8.0+ without crashes.
2. Scanner reads both QR and standard barcodes in <2 seconds under normal lighting.
3. Book records show all stored fields and can be edited or deleted.
4. Due-date field uses the device calendar format and can be filtered (“show books due today”, etc.).
5. Source code is handed over, commented clearly enough for a student team to extend later.
