Android App Development and Synchronization Fixes

Job ID: 39382162

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Mafisa is a Zambian non-profit organization established in 2018. Currently focused on Mwandi and surrounding districts, Mafisa works to strengthen climate-smart, productive pastoralist livelihoods in Zambia’s poorest and most climate-impacted regions. Our model helps traditional cattle-raising communities improve herd health, adopt regenerative rangeland practices, and access fair market opportunities—ultimately enabling them to build more sustainable and secure incomes. We also support alternative sustainable livelihoods in these same communities.

We have developed an Android application to support field data collection. The app enables:
Farmer registration
RFID tagging and cattle registration
Tracking animal-related events
Inventory management

The application is hosted in our Microsoft 365 tenant, using Azure DevOps for deployment and version control, with PostgreSQL as the backend database.

Mafisa is currently looking for an experienced Android developer to:
Resolve synchronization issues between the app and the cloud database
Carry out additional development work to improve app functionality (after conclusion of initial work)

Familiarity with Android development, Azure DevOps, pipeline creation and management and PostgreSQL is essential.
