Android App Connectivity Troubleshooting

I am assigned to a project where few teams have worked on an android app , purpose of that app is to install in the android tv box so that we can use it’s hotspot feature to connect user to it . The app is developed using Java programming language and I need help with finding an issue and solution for it in configuration in the app. The app is used to share files stored inside the device to other users by establishing a hotspot of the android device. The users then connect to the hotspot and using the browser they navigate to the local website being hosted by the app through the hotspot. The android device that I am using is capable of maintaining Wifi and hotspot connection simultaneously but for some reason when the app is running I am only able to use one connection either Wifi or Hotspot at a time. Can you help to find what is causing this and possible solution?
Some more context this might help to understand the problem little better. I have done tests previously with the device without the app installed. At that time, I connected a ethernet connection to the android device and I turned on the hotspot and I was able to share my internet connection of the ethernet to other devices using the hotspot. But when I installed the app I cannot do that. I can only use the ethernet for internet connection or use hotspot to share the files. I think some configuration in the app is not allowing me to use ethernet and hotspot at the same time. As I was able to use it before i installed the app on the device.
but before when i didn't had the app installed on the device. I did one test for this. I plugged in the ethernet cable to an android tv box and used the hotspot to share the internet connection and that was totally working. So, it does work but maybe because of some configuration inside the app now it is blocking me from doing that
Please check the network configuration changes made in the app that might be limiting the simultaneous use of Ethernet and Hotspot.
