Andoid App: Answering Machine

Job ID: 36934956

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am looking for an experienced Android app developer to create an answering machine app with the following features:

- Voicemail: The app should be able to receive and store voicemails for the user.
- Call screening: The app should have the ability to screen incoming calls and allow the user to choose whether to answer or send the call to voicemail.
- Custom greetings: The user should be able to customize the greeting message that plays when a call goes to voicemail.

I need an Android app built on the specs of an old-school answering machine.

Example of usage:

1. Phone rings
2. If I don't answer the phone within certain seconds (should be configurable), the app answers the phone.
3. Phone plays a pre-recorded message (configurable), terminating in a beep.
4. After the beep, whatever the person says on the other side, is recorded until the person hangs up or the call is terminated.
5. The person's response can be retrieved along with meta-data such as which number the call came from, a name (if the number is in the contacts), the time the call was received, the length of the call, etc.
7. Should be able to retain as many of these "sessions" as possible.
8. Any session can be deleted at any time.
9. The app should be able to handle a dual-SIM phone.

The above is only a jumping-off point not final specs.

Should work on any phone running Android11+.

The app does not need to integrate with other services and will solely be focused on providing the above features.

Ideal skills and experience for the job:

- Strong knowledge of Android app development and proficiency in Java.
- Experience working with audio recording and playback in Android.
- Familiarity with implementing call handling and call screening functionality in Android apps.
- Ability to create a user-friendly and visually appealing interface.

Please provide examples of previous Android app projects and demonstrate your expertise in the above areas.
