Add Cloud Database Support to Android Studio / Kotlin App (probably using AWS)

I need help setting up a cloud database for an Android Studio app. I'll need to add records to it periodically, ideally through some sort of interactive, manual process. And the app will need to read from it. I'll want to record our "session" (or take copious notes) so that I can repeat this process later with my actual app. I believe this should be simple and straightforward for anyone who's done it before.
