Refine Gaming Tournament App

I already have a working code-base for my gaming-tournament Android app, but it needs polished engineering before it can go live. The most urgent tasks are eliminating the persistent run-time exceptions that trigger hard crashes and rewriting the sluggish database queries that drag down performance. Once stability and speed are under control, the next milestone is a fully integrated in-app messaging system so players can chat live during events.

Your work will happen entirely in Android Studio on my existing repository. I will grant you access as soon as we agree on the scope; from there I expect clean, well-commented commits and frequent test builds. After the code is solid, I need a fresh signed release APK and the full app data uploaded to my Hostinger server (cPanel and SSH credentials will be provided).

Deliverables
• Resolve all crash-causing run-time exceptions
• Optimize slow database queries until lag is no longer noticeable on mid-range devices
• Build and embed real-time in-app messaging using your preferred framework (Firebase, Socket.IO, etc.)
• Generate a clean new project build and deploy it successfully to Hostinger, confirming that remote assets and APIs load without errors
• Short video or screenshots demonstrating each fix and feature in action
