Mobile App Development for WordPress News Portal with User Submission & Admin Approval Flow

I run an existing WordPress-based news portal and now want the same experience wrapped inside a dedicated Android application. The app should pull articles from my WordPress site (REST API is already active) so readers can browse, search and share stories just as they do on the web, but in a fast, minimalist native interface.
Beyond simple reading, I also need a full submission and moderation workflow. Any registered user will be able to send in a story, photo or video straight from the app. Their mobile number becomes the unique user ID—no emails or social logins, no OTP verification. Once submitted, items sit in “pending” status until Any Admin approve or reject them in an admin panel. Admin can be any from my Team. From that same panel Admin can track every user’s activity history at a glance. Admin should get Notification when a news posted by user. And user should get notification when post Approved or Rejected. Approved content is published automatically to WordPress.
Minimalist design is key: plain backgrounds, large typography, no unnecessary color accents, so the articles and photos stay front-and-center.
Acceptance criteria
• Complete Android source (Kotlin or Java) and compiled APK.
• WordPress integration working end-to-end for reading, submission and publishing.
• Real-time status updates for users via in-app notifications.
• Clear, commented code and a short README so future updates are straightforward.
