I need a lightweight GPS-based speedometer that runs flawlessly on both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The core function is straightforward: show current speed and rolling average in real time, relying solely on the phone’s GPS—no OBD, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth hooks.
Interface
The display should be simple and clean so drivers can glance at it without distraction. I do want the freedom to pick custom colors for the main elements to match different dashboards and night/day moods.
Extra functionality
Alongside the live speed read-out, I want three small extras that stay in the same streamlined spirit:
• Trip history that stores date, distance, and average speed for later review.
• Optional speed alerts (audible or visual) when a set limit is exceeded.
• Continuous distance tracking during each session.
Acceptance & hand-off
1. A testable build for Android Auto (APK) and CarPlay (TestFlight or IPA).
2. Clean, well-commented source code in Kotlin/Java for Android and Swift/SwiftUI for iOS, ready to be opened in Android Studio and Xcode.
3. Brief setup notes and a one-page guide explaining where to adjust color variables and alert thresholds.
