Android Text & Speech Translator

Job ID: 39935253

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need an Android app that can translate both typed text and spoken phrases in real-time. The interface should feel as light as Google’s stock tools yet let users choose their input method seamlessly—keyboard for text or tap-to-talk for voice. I’m happy for you to lean on Android Studio with Kotlin (Java is fine if you prefer) and whatever APIs make the most sense—Google ML Kit, the Cloud Translation API, or an open-source alternative—so long as latency stays low and accuracy stays high.

I haven’t fixed the exact language list yet, so build it so that new language pairs can be switched on quickly from a remote config or a simple settings update. The same goes for any offline models; structure the code so we can add them later without rewiring the whole project.

Deliverables:
• Full Android Studio project with clean, well-commented source code
• Signed APK or AAB ready for Play-Store testing
• Brief setup guide explaining how to swap or add language models, keys, and build variants

I’ll test by running the app on a Pixel device and verifying that typed sentences and spoken snippets are returned in the target language accurately and within a second or two. Let me know your build plan, preferred libraries, and any questions you need answered to get started.
