AOSP DVB Live TV App
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m expanding an AOSP build for Android TV with a dedicated Digital TV component focused solely on Live TV streaming. The stream source will be DVB, so the code must handle DVB transport, tune to channels, and play them back smoothly on Android TV hardware. Video-on-demand and other extras are out of scope for now; I just need rock-solid live playback.
Here is what I expect to receive:
• Source code and a signed, installable APK that compiles against the current AOSP/Android TV SDK
• Integration notes showing exactly where to drop the module inside an existing AOSP tree
• Simple channel list UI that pulls names and logos from the DVB data and lets me switch channels instantly
• Build and run instructions that a new engineer can follow on a clean checkout
Acceptance is straightforward: on a stock Android TV reference device, I must be able to flash the build, scan for DVB channels, and watch any of them for at least two hours without audio-video desync, crashes, or noticeable buffering. If you already have experience interfacing with DVB tuners, TIF, or similar middleware, that will speed things up, but any approach that meets the criteria above is fine with me.
