SEO Specialist — SpykeAI
About SpykeAI
SpykeAI is building a premium marketplace for AI prompts, automation tools, and AI agents—helping creators and teams find proven workflows for roles like marketing, recruiting, sales, customer success, and more. We curate high-quality collections and educational content so users can discover, compare, and adopt automations faster.
Role Summary
We’re hiring an SEO Specialist with 2+ years of experience to grow SpykeAI’s organic traffic and signups by improving our marketplace discoverability and scaling our content engine. You’ll own end-to-end SEO execution across keyword research, technical SEO, on-page optimisations, internal linking, and off-page efforts—with a strong focus on marketplace SEO challenges like faceted navigation, indexation control, and scalable page templates.
This role will partner closely with product, engineering, and content to build a search-first growth loop: publish content that ranks, route users into relevant marketplace pages, and convert organic visitors into users/customers.
Key Responsibilities
1) SEO Strategy & Keyword Research
Build an SEO roadmap focused on SpykeAI’s core search surfaces:
Marketplace categories (e.g., “AI sales automation tools”, “AI prompts for marketers”)
Role-based pages (Recruiters, Marketers, Solopreneurs, Sales Teams, etc.)
Use-case pages (lead generation, follow-ups, content creation, hiring, productivity)
Format pages (Prompt, Automation, Agent, Bundle)
Collections and curated lists (“best AI tools for…”, “top automations for…”)
Creator pages (if applicable) and product/listing pages
Perform keyword research by intent layers:
Transactional/commercial: “best AI automation tools for sales”
Problem-aware: “How to automate follow-ups”
Comparison: “Zapier vs Make for…”, “best tools like…”
Informational: “AI automation trends”, “prompt engineering strategies”
Map keywords to the right page type and prevent cannibalisation between blog posts and marketplace pages.
Track competitors in the AI tools/prompts space and identify content + category gaps.
2) Technical SEO (Marketplace-Ready)
Own technical audits and collaborate with engineering to implement fixes.
Improve crawl efficiency and indexation quality across dynamic marketplace URLs:
Filters/facets and URL parameters (avoid index bloat)
Canonical rules, noindex strategies, and pagination handling
Duplicate/thin content prevention (especially on similar listings/collections)
Ensure clean XML sitemaps (separate sitemaps for blog vs marketplace if needed), correct robots.txt rules, and healthy internal crawl paths.
Implement and validate structured data:
Article schema for blogs
Breadcrumb schema for marketplace hierarchy
Product/Software application/Review schema where relevant to listings (depending on site structure)
Improve Core Web Vitals and page speed with practical recommendations (LCP, CLS, INP), especially for category and listing pages.
Understanding of AI Search optimisation for LLM search (AEO &GEO)
3) On-Page SEO & Internal Linking
Optimise templates and key pages (titles, H1/H2 structure, copy blocks, FAQs, metadata) to improve rankings and CTR.
Build scalable internal linking rules:
Blog → relevant use case/category/collection pages
Category pages → top collections and high-converting listings
Cross-link by role, function, and sector solutions (e.g., Marketing ↔ Content Creation ↔ “AI content automation” collection)
Improve SERP appearance through snippet optimisation, FAQ sections, and schema-driven rich results where applicable.
Support UX + SEO alignment (navigation, breadcrumbs, indexable hierarchy, crawl depth reduction).
4) Content SEO (Blog + Learning Hub)
Work with writers (or create briefs) to produce content that ranks and converts:
“Best X for Y” lists tied to marketplace categories
How-to guides that naturally route users into tools/automations
Trend/insight posts that build authority (like “AI automation trends shaping 2025”)
Create SEO content briefs, including:
Target keywords + variants, intent notes, outline, internal links, schema recommendations, and “things to win” on SERP (featured snippet, PAA, comparisons).
Refresh and optimise existing posts to improve rankings (content updates, consolidation, pruning, link improvements).
5) Off-Page SEO & Authority Building
Run white-hat backlink acquisition strategies:
Outreach to AI newsletters, no-code/automation communities, creators, and SaaS ecosystems
Guest posts, partner pages, curated list inclusions
Digital PR angles (datasets, “top prompts/tools by role”, trend reports)
Monitor backlink profile health and competitor link strategies.
6) Analytics, Reporting & Experimentation
Measure SEO performance across the funnel (not just traffic):
Rankings, impressions, clicks, CTR (GSC)
Engagement and conversion to signup/purchase (GA4)
Marketplace KPIs (clicks to listings, add-to-cart, purchases, saves/bookmarks—based on what you track)
Build dashboards (Looker Studio preferred) and maintain a weekly/monthly reporting cadence.
Run SEO experiments on templates (meta tests, copy blocks, internal link modules) and document learnings.

Required Qualifications
2+ years of practical SEO experience with measurable results.
Proven experience working on both:
A marketplace/directory / large-site architecture (or similar dynamic site)
A blog/content site focused on organic growth
Strong understanding of:
Keyword research and intent mapping
Technical SEO (crawl/indexation, canonicals, sitemaps, schema, CWV)
On-page SEO (templates + content optimization)
Off-page SEO fundamentals (link building and authority growth)
Tool proficiency:
Google Search Console, GA4
Ahrefs or Semrush (or equivalent)
Screaming Frog / Sitebulb (or equivalent)
Familiarity with CMS publishing workflows and collaborating with developers.

Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience with programmatic SEO and template-driven content at scale.
Understanding of JavaScript SEO (React/Next.js rendering, hydration, pre-rendering/SSR concepts).
Experience in AI tools, automation, SaaS, creator economy, or productivity niches.
Copywriting/editing skills for SEO-focused updates.
Experience improving conversion from organic traffic (CRO mindset).

What You’ll Own (Outcomes)
Growth in high-intent organic traffic to marketplace pages (not just blog traffic).
Increased number of ranking category/collection pages for role + use-case keywords.
Improved indexation quality (fewer low-value indexed pages; better crawl efficiency).
Higher CTR and better SERP visibility via structured data and snippet improvements.
Strong internal linking that consistently moves users from content to product discovery.
