Hardware Engineer: 8-Ch Car Audio Unit with LiFePO4 Power Buffer (Architecture & Sourcing)
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am looking for a Hardware/Electronics Engineer to design the internal architecture for an integrated car audio enhancement unit. I will handle the DSP software (SigmaStudio) myself; I need you to design the physical "guts" and source the manufacturing.
The Project Scope:
1. PCB Architecture: Design a "Unified Core" tray that integrates an ADAU1462-based 8-Channel DSP Amplifier (6 in / 8 out) with Bluetooth 5.2 and Optical Input.
2. Power Management: Integrate a 4S LiFePO4 Battery (20Ah) as a high-speed power buffer. You must design the charging/protection circuit (BMS) so the unit "trickle charges" from a 12V car harness (15A max) while providing high-current bursts for dual 8" subwoofers.
3. Internal Interconnects: Design the internal wiring using ribbon cables and high-current busbars to keep the unit compact ($12'' \times 10'' \times 3''$ internal tray).
4. Manufacturing Sourcing: Identify and verify "Naked PCB" modules and components from Shenzhen/Alibaba suppliers that can be integrated into a final Bill of Materials (BOM).
Deliverables:
• Complete System Block Diagram and Wiring Schematic.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) with verified supplier links and landed costs.
• CAD/STEP files for component placement within the enclosure.
• A shortlist of 2-3 Shenzhen-based manufacturers for PCB assembly and enclosure production.
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience with Automotive Electronics and power isolation.
• Expertise in LiFePO4 battery management and DC-DC conversion.
• Proven track record of sourcing and managing production in China (Shenzhen/Guangdong).
• Note: Knowledge of SigmaStudio is a plus but not required, as I will handle the DSP programming.
