Automatic TP5100 Charge Cutoff Circuit

Job ID: 39984079

Budget: ₹1,000 – ₹2,000 INR

I’m using a 2-cell Li-ion pack (8.4 V full, 7.4 V nominal) with the TP5100 charging module and I need an add-on circuit that will:

• Drop the adapter input the instant pack voltage hits 8.4 V, preventing any trickle or top-off current.
• Re-enable the adapter automatically when the pack drops to roughly 7.4 V so charging can resume.

No LEDs, displays, or other indicators are required; this must be a self-contained, low-quiescent solution that pairs cleanly with the TP5100. I’m comfortable assembling the hardware, so what I need from you is:

• A clear schematic showing the control logic (op-amp/ comparator, MOSFET or relay, hysteresis network, etc.).
• A concise bill of materials with readily available parts.
• Brief design notes explaining component choices and how the 8.4 V cutoff / 7.4 V reconnect thresholds are set.
• (Optional but appreciated) LTspice or similar simulation files and a compact PCB layout in Gerber or KiCad format.

Reliability and simplicity matter more than exotic parts. If you’ve tackled Li-ion protection or charger-interface circuits before, this should be straightforward—let’s get it done.
