I am looking for an experienced electronics / Arduino developer to help troubleshoot and repair an existing Arduino-based electrical stimulation system used for biological experiments.
The system was previously working but has now failed (board may be damaged or incorrectly wired). I need someone to diagnose the issue and restore functionality as closely as possible to the original behaviour.
System details:
Arduino platform: Adafruit Feather M4 Express
Motor control: Adafruit Motor Shield / FeatherWing
Custom wiring to stimulation electrodes
Output used to deliver timed electrical pulses to biological samples
Original functionality (important):
The Arduino ran a stimulation protocol consisting of:
Tetanus: 100 Hz pulse train, 5 ms pulse width, ~1 second duration
Twitch: single pulse, 5 ms width
Sequence: 3 tetanus contractions (10 s apart), followed by 3 twitch contractions (10 s apart)
Code is available.
Issues:
Board may have been damaged (possibly electrical overload)
System no longer produces expected stimulation output
Need verification that output signal is correct and safe
What I need:
Diagnose hardware and/or wiring issues
Repair or replace faulty components
Ensure Arduino outputs correct pulse timing (matching existing code)
Optional: suggest safer / more robust circuit design
Optional: add simple validation method (e.g. LED or test output)
Location:
Ideally London-based (for in-person help)
Experience required:
Arduino / embedded systems
Basic electronics troubleshooting
Signal generation (PWM / DAC / pulse timing)
Bonus: experience with lab equipment or bioengineering setups
