System Solution Architect
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
This is an opportunity for a developer who is ambitious and likes to build products with and for others.
We have an industrial IoT product with both on-premise and cloud (thus, hybrid) requirements. We would like to find a person that can lead the design of the full release (with an emphasis on the system, and user software) even while transitioning from the MVP that is presently being produced and fielded.
Some of the design elements for which we are seeking expertise and insight:
1) how to manage our embedded (IoT) devices and data flows for good customer care,
2) how to maximize the commonality of code when all 3 of on-premise/cloud/hybrid are possible,
3) how to structure the data and protect it (i.e., things like NERC/CIP, NIST800) when (most of the time) it is owned by customers,
4) how to support access to data for the 3 cases such that we can continue to optimize ML workflows for customers,
5) how to present data and data products (imagery, time series) across the 3 situations,
6) how to ensure scalability for 1000s of devices.
These are all "normal" concerns for a modern IIOT scenario; we do have an MVP, so we are not starting from scratch. However, we wish to revise, update and progress our capability with care and quality. If you are new to "things I/T" this is not a good place to start.
We are working with AWS primarily (where the cloud is concerned) and have software running in embedded ARM (Linux) environments and in server-less structures (cloud, for the most part). The ideal candidate has experience in developing software and architecting systems that involve hardware and software elements. Understanding of industrial automation settings, factory floors, and similar scenarios will be very helpful for your thinking.
