Senior AWS DevOps
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
Reejig has been recognised by the World Economic Forum as a pioneer for our innovation in the world’s first independently audited Ethical AI and we are looking for two strong team players to join us remotely!
This person is someone who can help bring the ways of Devops to the rest of the engineering organisation whilst helping increase and improve our levels of automation. You will also be working on the Platform & Security team alongside 3 other senior members.
So what are we looking for?
Someone with very strong CI/CD experience
We’re looking for someone who has deep experience deploying a critical & complex web application to the production environment. You MUST know Terraform very well. Our platform is a multiple-distributed architecture with several services being deployed (We are heading towards a microservice architecture).
Someone with very strong general AWS knowledge
Some of the AWS services we use are MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticCache, lambdas, API gateway, step functions, SSM and amongst many others. You MUST know how to set up proper permissions and roles. You MUST know how everything fits together properly and in a scalable way. We are not doing click-ops. We want to automate items as much as possible. You must have experience migrating legacy to the modern AWS architecture.
Someone with strong security knowledge
You know how to set up a network, VPC, database, connections between services by following AWS Well Architected Framework. You must know how to restore and create backups, logs, cloudwatch and other third-party tools you've used before.
Someone who is a fast & pragmatic engineer
Not everything is perfect so you will be given many support requests and tasks. Business is growing fast, so you must adapt. Sometimes there are deadlines, so we expect you to take many necessary shortcuts, but document them so that we can fix them later. We want you to be pragmatic and realistic. We want you to work with engineers and enable them.
Someone who is a strong communicator
You must speak English very well. We expect you to communicate well. Reach out to people and ask questions proactively. We want you to connect the dots. Speak clearly and raise issues early. Communicate constantly and let others know of the status. Unblock issues quickly by talking to people.
Someone with a strong drive to solve problems
You have a strong desire to explore and solve problems even though you need to work on another task. It’s hard to let go and you need to scratch that itch to solve it. You thrive on this challenge of solving the equivalent of a digital Rubik’s cube on a frequent basis.
