Scalable AWS Software Architecture Implementation
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
We seek an experienced Software Architect to lead a multi-stage project to transform our existing VOXR system from a proof of concept into a scalable, robust product using AWS cloud services and microservices architecture. This critical role will involve redesigning our current architecture, implementing best practices, and ensuring a seamless transition without downtime.
Project Stages:
1. Evaluation & Planning: Assess the current architecture of VOXR, which includes a Bubble.io front end, NodeJS business logic on AWS EC2, locally installed MongoDB on EC2, and a Python-based AI backend on another EC2 instance. Develop a comprehensive overhaul plan that outlines the transition to a microservices architecture on AWS.
2. Security Enhancement: Strengthen security across the platform, ensuring all endpoints are secured with JWT tokens. Establish robust authentication and authorization mechanisms consistent with industry standards.
3. Microservices Architecture Implementation: Re-architect the system into a series of independent, scalable microservices. This will involve decoupling existing components and ensuring that each microservice is designed to perform its function optimally.
4. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Setup: Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes. This will facilitate a smoother development cycle and help maintain high-quality code standards.
5. Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy that includes unit, integration, and load testing to ensure the system is reliable, scalable, and secure.
Responsibilities:
Redesign the current system to effectively utilize AWS services, transitioning to a serverless or microservices architecture as appropriate.
- Develop and document architecture designs and processes.
- Work closely with the development team to implement new architectural changes.
- Establish a CI/CD pipeline for automated testing and deployment.
- Ensure the entire architecture is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Software Architect with a strong portfolio in large-scale system overhauls and cloud architecture, preferably AWS.
- Expert knowledge of Node.js, Python, and database management, particularly MongoDB.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
- Strong background in implementing security protocols, including JWT.
- Proficient in setting up CI/CD pipelines and familiar with testing frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
Project Duration:
The project is expected to span several months, with each stage meticulously planned and executed according to a predetermined timeline.
Compensation:
Payment will be negotiated based on experience and the expected deliverables for each milestone.
Application Process:
Interested candidates should submit a resume, a cover letter outlining relevant experiences, and at least two case studies or project examples that best demonstrate their capability to undertake this project.
With your architectural expertise, transform VOXR into a leading-edge, scalable platform. Join us on this exciting journey to innovate and enhance business communication.
