The main goal of this project is to ensure our PostgreSQL database is robust, reliable, and well-prepared for potential data loss or corruption scenarios due to hardware failure or cybersecurity attacks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement a PostgreSQL Cluster for high availability, load balancing, and disaster recovery purposes.
- Configure Barman for online backups and recovery management.
- Configure Repmgr for automated failover and cluster management.
- Integrate HAProxy for load balancing and high availability.
- Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms for the entire setup.
Required skills and experience:
- Proficient in PostgreSQL database administration, and in particular, setting up and managing PostgreSQL Clusters.
- Experience with Barman for backup and restore operations.
- Proficiency in Repmgr for cluster management and failover.
- Experience with HAProxy for load balancing and high availability is essential.
- Expertise in designing disaster recovery plans and handling data loss scenarios due to hardware failure and cybersecurity attacks.
