Help autoscaling website server

We are running a Shopify website with a custom application that was created through AWS and Heroku. Customers on our website are having issues with glitches on the website that we believe are related to issues with the server not being big enough. We have received AWS tier limit usage emails and need help understanding this and figuring out how to expand the server on the website so it functions properly.
