1. Expertise in AWS: The candidate should have a strong understanding and extensive experience working with various AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront, etc. They should be able to design, deploy, and manage highly scalable and reliable architectures on AWS.

2. Infrastructure Architecture: The candidate must have a solid background in designing and implementing infrastructure architectures. They should be proficient in creating scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available systems on AWS. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform is highly desirable.

3. Operations Management: The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing large-scale operations for a product or company. This includes overseeing the availability, performance, and security of the infrastructure. They should have a deep understanding of monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure smooth operations.

4. Platform Services Knowledge: The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of various AWS platform services and their use cases. This includes services like AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS), AWS Batch, AWS Fargate, etc. They should be able to recommend and implement the appropriate services based on the project requirements.

5. Database Management: The candidate should have expertise in managing databases on AWS, particularly with AWS RDS (Relational Database Service) and NoSQL databases like Amazon DynamoDB. They should have experience in designing and optimizing database schemas, configuring replication, ensuring data integrity, and implementing backup and recovery strategies.

6. EMR System Experience ( ! Important ): Familiarity with USA-based EMR systems like eCW (eClinicalWorks) or Athenaclinicals is highly desirable. The candidate should have an understanding of the specific requirements, regulations, and challenges associated with healthcare-related systems. Experience in designing and deploying secure and compliant EMR systems on AWS would be a significant advantage.

7. Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: The candidate should possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex issues related to infrastructure design, performance, scalability, and security. They should be able to analyze system performance metrics and make data-driven decisions for optimization.

8. Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills are crucial for an AWS architect. The candidate should be able to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. They should also be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and management.

9. Certifications: Relevant AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional, are highly valued and demonstrate the candidate's knowledge and expertise in AWS architecture and services.
