Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Disk Replacement Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, replacing, and troubleshooting disk drives within our data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled and emergency disk replacements in servers and storage systems within the data center.

Identify faulty or failing disk drives using monitoring tools and hardware diagnostics.

Physically remove and replace disk drives while ensuring data integrity and system stability.

Document replacement activities, including serial numbers, failure reports, and maintenance logs.

Collaborate with IT support and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance and upgrades.

Follow established safety and security protocols within the data center.

Assist with hardware inventory management and stock of replacement parts.

Participate in disaster recovery testing and data backup verification as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience with disk replacement and hardware maintenance in data centers or server environments.

Strong understanding of RAID configurations, storage arrays, and SAN/NAS systems.

Familiarity with server hardware from vendors such as Dell, HP, Cisco, or IBM.

Ability to use diagnostic and monitoring tools to identify hardware issues.

Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling sensitive components.

Strong communication skills to report incidents and collaborate with IT teams.

Ability to work independently and respond promptly to urgent hardware issues.

Willingness to work flexible hours or on-call shifts as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or vendor-specific hardware certifications.

Experience with data center safety standards and best practices.

Knowledge of data backup and recovery processes.

Work Environment:
Physically able to lift and handle hardware components.

Work performed primarily in a data center environment with controlled access and strict protocols.
