Automated Kubernetes Deployment & CI/CD Pipeline - 06/11/2024 08:24 EST
Budget: ₹37,500 – ₹75,000 INR
he setup includes Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and an RDS database. Our goal is to have a fully automated deployment process from development to production, ensuring smooth transitions between different environments (dev, QA, and production).
This is a one-time project with the possibility of ongoing support as needed. We are looking for someone who can deliver a high-quality setup and provide documentation and guidance for our team.
Project Requirements:
1. Kubernetes Cluster Setup:
Deploy a Kubernetes cluster on AWS (or a cloud provider of your choice).
Set up namespaces for different environments (e.g., dev, QA, prod).
Establish security measures, including network policies and access controls.
2. CI/CD Pipeline Configuration:
Set up a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Configure the pipeline to automate build, test, and deployment processes:
Build: Dockerize applications (backend microservices and frontend).
Test: Run unit tests, integration tests, and E2E tests as part of the pipeline.
Deploy: Automatically deploy code to QA and production environments based on branch (e.g., main, QA) and approvals.
Add manual approval steps for production deployments.
Integrate secret management tools for handling sensitive data and environment variables securely.
3. Docker Containerization:
Create Dockerfiles for each service (backend microservices and frontend) if not already done.
Push Docker images to a container registry (Docker Hub, AWS ECR, or similar).
Ensure Docker images are optimized for security and performance.
4. RDS Database Setup:
Set up an RDS instance on AWS with appropriate configurations (e.g., backups, read replicas, etc.).
Configure database connections from within the Kubernetes cluster.
Ensure secure and efficient database connections for all environments.
Configure separate databases for dev, QA, and production environments.
5. Documentation and Handover:
Provide detailed documentation on all configurations, including:
CI/CD pipeline setup and deployment processes.
Kubernetes and Docker configurations.
Instructions for monitoring and troubleshooting.
Conduct a walkthrough of the setup for our team to ensure smooth handover.
Optional: Provide guidance on managing and updating the infrastructure post-setup.
Technical Skills Required:
Proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Experience in CI/CD pipeline setup using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of Docker and container management.
Knowledge of AWS RDS or similar cloud database setups.
Secure secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, Vault, or similar).
EXPECTED FLOW:
1. Junior Dev writes a code and pushes to Dev.
2. Jenkins Pipieline triggers.
3. When Jenkins conclude, The code is delpoyed and application is running on dev kuberenetes cluster.
