Amazon API to access pricing data

I need someone to walk me through the process of creating API access via my amazon seller account to access pricing data.
This API key will then be used to scan our catalogue against Amazon to find prices of products we are selling through our website so we can identify those worth uploading into Amazon. This part will be done by separate team. I only need to understand how API access is created on Amazon.
