AWS Web Project
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Infrastructure Option Requirements and Grading Rubric:
• Must use at least one AWS service from each of the following categories:
(10 pts. total)
o Compute: EC2 or Lambda (4 pts.)
o Storage: S3, EFS, or Glacier (3 pts.)
o Database: RDS or DynamoDB (2 pts.)
o Monitoring: CloudWatch or Security: IAM Role (1 pt.)
• Must apply a high availability construct, by using one (1) or more of the following:
(3 pts.)
o Route 53 Routing Policies/Availability Monitoring
o Load Balancing
o Auto Scaling
• Project must be accessible from the public Internet for grading, either via a
Public IPv4 address or a Public DNS URL (3 pts.)
• Must submit a simple, one (1) page write-up that briefly explains the purpose of your
project, how it was architected, and how you expect it to work (3 pts.)
• You can NOT use Lightsail or Elastic Beanstalk to cut corners. Please deploy all
infrastructure manually.
• Your project must be significantly different from what you’ve set up during Labs. Simple
HTML websites linking to S3 objects with an Auto Scaling Group will not be scored.

• By November 20th: Your idea for the final project, e-mailed to the professor at
• By December 11th, uploaded to Canvas:
o The one (1) page write-up describing the project, e-mailed to the professor.
o Include, as a comment, the IP address or Public DNS URL to your project.
§ It will be assumed that this is accessible from an Internet browser. If the
professor needs to access your project from a different interface, please
provide details in your write-up.
o Please upload these to the Option 1 Submission Link
