AWS Specialist for PHP/MySQL Migration

Job ID: 37830610

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

This project requires a skilled AWS migration specialist to transition our PHP/MySQL web application from its current hosting on a T2 instance to a T3 instance on Amazon Web Services. The data and files involved in this migration are relatively modest, totaling less than 1GB and fewer than 10,000 files.

Clear communication and attention to detail are essential for this project. I've observed that some freelancers do not thoroughly read requirements or respond to ads without fully understanding them; therefore, I have included two questions in this job post. To be considered for this role, please answer both questions at the BEGINNING of your reply to this ad.

Key Tasks:

Plan and implement the migration process efficiently.
Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of the application post-migration.
Configure the application to utilize Amazon RDS.
Secure access will be provided, and adherence to best security practices is expected.
Ideal Experience and Skills:

Demonstrated experience in migrating PHP/MySQL applications to Amazon Web Services.
Proficiency with Amazon AWS RDS.
A strong understanding of AWS architecture and services.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize for the best performance.
Incentive:
If you are skilled with these systems and can maintain similar efficiency while reducing my current costs of USD $19-20 per month, I will give you half of the savings for the first year. The full 12 months of savings will be paid out after 3 months of observing the new costs.

Considerations for the Migration:
We will continue using Amazon EC2 for hosting, with potential future needs for Elastic Load Balancing, RDS, and Amazon CloudFront as our user base expands.
Q: Can you provide a recommendation for the future needs (Load balancing , RDS etc)?

Previously, our domain was configured within a separate AWS account, pointing to our web application via an A record linked to a specific IP address of the AWS-hosted service. As part of streamlining our operations and prior to this migration, I aim to consolidate this setup by transferring the domain configuration to our primary AWS account. This consolidation will ensure clearer management of our resources and services associated with this migration.
