We're seeking an AWS OpenSearch expert to implement and optimize a hybrid search system that combines Boolean and vector-based (k-NN) search capabilities. This project aims to enhance our search infrastructure's performance, relevance, and query handling capacity.

Key Tasks:
• Design and implement a hybrid search pipeline that integrates Boolean search with k-NN vector-based retrieval in OpenSearch
• Develop optimization algorithms to improve search relevance and query performance
• Create and implement logic for merging and ranking results from both Boolean and vector search methods
• Set up a testing environment for development and validation
• Conduct benchmark testing and performance optimization
• Configure result ranking mechanisms based on test outcomes

Required Skills:
• Advanced expertise with AWS OpenSearch and Boolean search implementations
• Experience with vector-based search methods, particularly k-NN
• Strong background in search pipeline development and optimization
• Proficiency in setting up test environments and conducting performance benchmarking
• Understanding of query optimization and result ranking mechanisms

Preferred Experience:
• Previous work with hybrid search implementations
• Experience with large-scale search systems
• Background in search relevance optimization
• Familiarity with API integrations for search systems
• Experience with search performance testing and validation

I will be able to work closely with you on this project. I would prefer to have video meetings where we can work on setting up these new features in OpenSearch together.
