AWS Network Optimization for Cost Reduction
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are experiencing unusually high data transfer costs categorized under "EC2: Data Transfer - Inter AZ" in AWS, averaging around 14TB per day. Despite our internal efforts to analyze and optimize our AWS environment, including reviewing VPC peering, RDS Cross-AZ replication, and ELB configurations, the root cause of these high costs remains unclear.
We are seeking an experienced AWS Network Optimization Consultant to conduct a comprehensive analysis of our current architecture, identify the sources of excessive inter-AZ data transfer, and provide actionable recommendations to minimize these costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze VPC peering configurations and traffic patterns to identify potential inefficiencies.
- Review and optimize cross-AZ and cross-region traffic, including RDS, S3, ELB, and other managed services.
- Evaluate the use of AWS services like Transit Gateway, VPC Endpoints, and Elastic IPs in relation to data transfer costs.
- Provide detailed insights and recommendations on network architecture changes to reduce unnecessary inter-AZ traffic.
- Collaborate with our internal team to implement the recommended optimizations.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience with AWS networking, including VPC peering, Transit Gateway, and inter-AZ traffic management.
- Strong understanding of AWS Cost Explorer, CloudWatch, and VPC Flow Logs for monitoring and analysis.
