AWS to GCP Migration Assessment

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

I'm seeking an experienced cloud architect to perform a comprehensive discovery and assessment of my applications currently hosted on AWS, with the goal of migrating to Google Cloud. The main objective is to map our existing AWS services to their Google Cloud equivalents.

The AWS services we are currently using include:
- ECS Kubernetes
- RDS DB
- EC2
- Managed Service Prometheus
- Storage
- ElasticCache

Key tasks include:
Application Developer with the goal of preparing a migration blueprint to Google Cloud.

Discovery & Assessment Phase
1. Analyze the Existing AWS Infrastructure
Review the architecture of the application running on AWS.
Identify dependencies and interdependencies between services.

2. Evaluate Frontend & Backend Components
Analyze the Frontend (React, Vite JS) and Backend (Node.js) structure.
Identify AWS-specific services used (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS) and their counterparts in Google Cloud.
Review integrations, third-party dependencies, and database interactions.

3. Identify Technical & Business Constraints
Document existing performance metrics, scalability needs, and security requirements.
Highlight potential challenges in migration (e.g., service compatibility, refactoring needs).
Determine business goals and cost considerations for migration.

4. Migration Blueprint Development - Define Migration Approach
Establish whether migration will be Lift-and-Shift, Re-platforming, or Re-architecting.
Map AWS services to equivalent Google Cloud services.
Identify areas requiring code modifications for compatibility.

5. Design Target Architecture in Google Cloud
Optimize resource allocation for performance and cost efficiency.
Define scalability, security, and monitoring strategies.
Ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Ideal skills and experience:
- Extensive knowledge of AWS and Google Cloud
- Experience with cloud migration projects
- Strong architectural skills
