AWS Expert for Secure Educational App Backend

Project Title:
AWS Backend Integration for Education Platform (FERPA/COPPA Compliant)

Project Description:
I am looking for an experienced backend developer to wire my existing web application to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is not a beginner project — I need someone who understands both technical implementation and the security responsibilities that come with handling student data.

Key Requirements:

Strong experience building and deploying backend systems on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/DynamoDB, S3, etc.)
Deep understanding of FERPA and COPPA compliance
Ability to design secure architecture for student data (encryption, access control, audit logs, etc.)
Experience with authentication systems (OAuth, SSO, or similar — future integration likely with school systems)
Ability to review an existing project, understand scope quickly, and execute without unnecessary delays

Willingness to spend time upfront understanding the full scope and long-term vision
Proven experience with similar projects (education, student data, or compliance-heavy systems preferred)
Ability to move quickly — timeline is weeks, not months

Project Goal:
The goal is to move from a working prototype to a secure, scalable backend that can meet school district requirements and eventually support enterprise-level deployment.

Nice to Have (Not Required):

Experience with school systems (SIS integrations like Skyward, PowerSchool, etc.)
Familiarity with data privacy agreements (DPAs) and district approval processes
Experience preparing systems for SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks
