AWS EKS Cluster Upgrade
Description:
We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to perform a version upgrade on our existing Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) cluster. The goal is to ensure a smooth and secure upgrade with minimal downtime and no disruption to running workloads.
Responsibilities:
Assess the current EKS cluster and dependencies
Plan and execute the EKS control plane and worker node upgrade
Ensure compatibility with existing workloads, add-ons, and configurations
Implement necessary changes in IAM roles, security groups, and policies
Conduct testing and validation post-upgrade
Provide documentation and recommendations for future upgrades
Requirements:
Proven experience with AWS EKS, Kubernetes upgrades, and related AWS services
Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging tools
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Helm, Istio, or other Kubernetes ecosystem tools
Prior work on zero-downtime EKS upgrades
