AWS CDK expert needed

I have a set of CDK stacks that works perfectly the first time I deploy it.
I have a set of stacks that deploys fine the first time on a server.
If I change the app name to, for example DEV_appname then it should work just as well, but on my setup something is not working on the second deploy.
I require some help showing me how to diagnose this issue and view the logs etc.
