Restaurant Helper & Senior Companion
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m juggling two passions at once—a cosy, fast-paced restaurant and the well-being of my elderly parents—so I need an extra pair of dependable, caring hands.
During service hours you’ll slip into typical front-of-house duties: greeting guests, setting and clearing tables, keeping water glasses filled, maybe a bit of light prep if the kitchen gets slammed. Between rushes or once the dining room settles, you’ll transition to companionship for my parents. They don’t need medical attention; they simply love company. You might pull out a deck of cards or a puzzle, read a chapter from a favourite book, or escort them on a gentle walk around the neighbourhood.
Key deliverables:
• Smooth, courteous restaurant assistance each shift
• Daily engagement with my parents through games, reading, or short outings
• A brief end-of-day note summarising what was done and any issues I should know about
Shifts run roughly five afternoons a week, 4–5 hours a day, and I’m flexible on exact timing if we coordinate in advance. Hospitality experience is a plus, but what really matters is reliability, patience, and a naturally warm presence around seniors and diners alike.
If this blend of restaurant energy and heartfelt companionship sounds like your kind of work, tell me a bit about your background and when you could start.
