Multi-sensor PCB Design for R&D
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I need an experienced PCB designer to create a sensor interface board for an environmental data collection project in our university masters research.
Project Overview:
We're building modular data acquisition hardware for recording environmental parameters. This is one module in our testing setup that needs to interface multiple sensors simultaneously.
Technical Requirements:
Sensors to Interface:
1x ADXL355 3-axis accelerometer (SPI interface)
4x DS18B20 temperature sensors (OneWire protocol)
1x I2S MEMS microphone interface (INMP441 compatible)
Connectivity:
Standard 20-pin IDC header with following signals:
Power inputs: 3.3V, 5V, GND
SPI: MOSI, MISO, SCK, CS
I2C: SDA, SCL
OneWire data line
I2S: WS, SCK, SD
2x GPIO for interrupts
The 20-pin header should follow standard ribbon cable pinout with pin 1 clearly marked. Board should be designed to work as a standalone unit or connect to a generic microcontroller board via this header.
Board Specifications:
Size: 80mm x 60mm maximum (2-layer or 4-layer)
4x M3 mounting holes at corners
Proper decoupling capacitors per sensor datasheet
ESD protection on external connections
LED indicators for power and activity
Clear silkscreen labels
Additional Requirements:
4.7k pull-up resistor for OneWire bus
Address selection jumpers for I2C
Test points for debugging
Follow manufacturer's layout guidelines for ADXL355
Deliverables Required:
Complete schematic (Altium Designer or KiCad format)
PCB layout files with 3D view
Gerber files ready for JLCPCB/PCBWay
Bill of Materials with DigiKey/Mouser part numbers
Simple test code (Arduino or Python) to verify sensor readings
PDF documentation of pinouts
Nice to Have:
Experience with MEMS sensors
Knowledge of mixed-signal PCB design
